I’ve designed and constructed a lot of furniture for many different reasons. Here are some of the pieces that didn’t fit in other projects, or just stood better on their own. Some are handmade, some have been cast in plastic, others have been cut on CNCs that I’ve programmed to do strange things. They’ve all satisfied various curiosities I’ve had about furniture—its conceptual underpinnings, its straightforward function, or its detailing only appreciated with use. I love making things to live with and use everyday. I really think that space includes some of the most gratifying experiences one can have.

This stool was made for a musician, specifically a violinist. The angle of the stool seat keeps the user’s back straight and posture correct while playing.
